Overview

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Technical QA Manager to work with global teams and push the envelope on Software Quality automation and agility initiatives. This individual will be responsible for managing & mentoring a team of SDETs in India who test HealthEdge’s applications and assist the QA team in refining and maintaining a strong test practice. The Technical Manager, Quality Assurance, is expected to be a key driver in continuing to move the teams towards the test automation path.

Your impact:

• Lead, mentor, and grow an India team of SDETs by clearly defining development goals, performance notes, and performance measurements.

• This also includes Sprint management and Release Engineering.

• Effectively managing the workload of the SDETs, Test Engineers, and Leads when applicable.

• Evaluate processes, anticipate problems, communicate suggestions to optimize effectiveness and efficiency, take corrective action, and escalate as needed to resolve and achieve commitments.

• Partner with Engineering leaders to modernize testing methodologies and tooling.

• Join the transformation initiative started by the VP of QA in building a solid test automation practice, optimizing the process, and building a testing center of excellence.

• Hands-on when troubleshooting automation issues with the SDETs, leading them to viable technical solutions.

• Work closely with the Test Automation Architect to understand the test automation framework, test data strategy for automation, CI implementation, and dashboards for metrics.

• Be the liaison between the Delivery Stream Engineers, Tech Leads, Product Owners, Business Partners/Users, Platform Engineers, Developers, QA, and other team members to ensure coordination, synergy, and successful sprint/feature delivery.

• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of Automation test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and dependencies.

• Be a change agent and drive a DevOps mindset of CI/CD and full automation within the product development teams.

• Assist in the screening and hiring process.

• Play the administrator role for Azure DevOps tool (ADO), specifically for the Test Plan module.

• Manage and monitor non-production environments to ensure availability, integrations, refreshes, access, and test data are readily available.

• Comfortable providing quality metrics in each sprint for the automation done by the SDET team.

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience in managing a sizeable software testing staff comprising manual and automation engineers.

• Proven experience leading, mentoring, reshaping, and growing automation engineers through technical guidance.

• Expert at evaluating the skill set of the team and allocating the right resources for the Project/Program.

• 5+ years’ experience testing client-server applications, web applications, APIs, databases, and test automation solutions.

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with test automation using open-source tools such as Selenium, cypress, playwright, etc.

• Experience in Functional Testing, Black Box Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, Performance Testing, Services Testing, Security Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

• A BS or MS degree or equivalent is required.

• Very strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.

• Proven experience to be highly responsible, self-disciplined, motivational, creative, confident, and a quick learner.

• Ability to build strong working relationships with others at all levels in the organization.

• Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new concepts and adapt to new technologies into current solutions.

• Competent to work under high pressure and stick to milestones.

• Expertise in common tools used in SDLC for Requirement Management, Test Case Management, Defect Management, Software Configuration Management, Release Management, Deployment Management, and open-source automation.

• Extensive experience working with and in Agile environments.

Bonus points:

• Experience with multiple testing techniques for data, API & web application testing in the Cloud.

• Agile certification is a plus.

• US Healthcare domain knowledge is a plus.

• Familiarity with industry application platforms, Azure DevOps, PaaS databases, Containers, cloud-native solutions, etc.

• Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

• Experience managing globally dispersed teams.
