Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Reporting to the Director of Associate Relations, the Risk Mitigation Manager assists in supporting the key objectives of associate engagement strategies, risk mitigation and union awareness within the Associate Relations functions including campaign support, data analysis, engagement projects, market projects, training, system improvements, initiatives, and other enhancements to lead engagement activities and address vulnerabilities to ensure an excellent associate experience across the system. Build and maintain strong cross-functional partnership and collaboration, within HR and outside of HR, is required to drive resolutions that mitigate risk and address root causes to decrease disengagement of associates.

Essential Job Functions

  • Works closely with the Director of Associate Relations to manage associate relations and third-party interventions. Assist in the development of campaign preparation, including risk mitigation training, development of tools and repository of developed communication resources. Lead and supports climate surveys, assessments, and other intervention methods to uncover dysfunctionality leveraging data analytics, focus groups and interviews.

  • Participate in leading risk mitigation and union awareness activities for the organization supporting leaders, departments, and markets.

  • Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs, highlighting key trends in associate relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimize reactive work. Responsible for all associate relations/associate experience reporting for the COE, both scheduled and on demand. Manage all system updates and enhancements within the case management system to drive insight-based analytics output.

  • Workday reporting and organizing data in a cohesive fashion for risk mitigation requests and campaigns.

  • Analyze, diagnose, and audit people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations. Recommended updates and enhancements on said programs and policies. Communication changes to relevant customers.

  • Provide Risk Mitigation and Union Awareness Training both virtually and in person to Operations and HR Leaders (both virtually and in person).

  • Responsible for multi-system data pulls including personnel files, timecard, case management systems (Service Now) used by quality, risk, compliance, and operations when needed by the function.

  • Conducts proactive research as necessary and monitors reports, news, social media, internal communication platforms and data points pertaining to associate engagement to share insights for opportunities to improve connection and communication with our associates.

  • Identifies process improvements within the associate relations function. Responsible for assessing and collaborating with cross-functional partners to uncover operational opportunities, make recommendations, gain alignment, and deliver the agree upon solutions. Responsible for communicating the changes and monitoring changes to ensure making the desired impact.

Education

Bachelor of Human Resources/Management/Economics or another related field (required)

Masters, Human Resources, Management or another related field (preferred)

Licensing/Certification

PHR, SHRM-CP (required)

SPHR, SHRM – SCP (preferred)

Work Experience

5+ years of experience in a leadership position within Human Resources or Operations (required)

4+ of the years in Human Resources leading and or developing employee engagement strategies, and identifying factors that lead to associate disengagement (preferred)

Minimum of 2 years risk mitigation/union awareness experience (required)

  • Participating in or leading labor organizing campaigns and union awareness.

  • Analyzing data (predictive and reactive) to mitigate risk.

  • Coaching and training leaders on risk mitigation and union awareness.

  • Partnering with leaders to mitigate potential causes of associate dissatisfiers which increase organizing risk

Previous project management experience within large matrix, multi-site organization (>10,000 employees) Ideally candidate has both Operations and Human Resources experience (preferred)

  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

  • Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel.
