The Intake Clinician assess the clinical and financial appropriateness of potential admissions and facilitating external arrangements for admissions including coordinating staff assignments for care and bed placement.

The Intake Clinical is responsible for:

  • Coordinating the patient intake process

  • Patient intake calls

  • Providing information to individuals, agencies, facilities and Professional Staff (i.e. Physicians, therapists, hospitals)

  • Requesting information regarding potential admissions

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with ongoing referral sources referring to alternate treatment sources

  • When appropriate assisting with travel arrangements for patients and families

  • Completing necessary admission paperwork

    Required skills include a high level of initiative, motivation, independent judgement and organization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate in a clear and concise manner. The successful candidate will enjoy working independently and as part of team, will be willing to roll up their sleeves and to help out where needed, will successfully juggle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail and follow through, and will help improve company operations to support growth.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: Must have Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health field.

    EXPERIENCE: Clinical experience in psychiatric setting; situational evaluation and crisis intervention.

    LICENSE: Must have LCSW, LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW

    SKILLS: High level of initiative, motivation, independent judgment and organizational skills. Ability to relate to those emotionally disturbed and in crisis. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to assess the clinical and financial appropriateness of potential admissions and facilitating external arrangements for admissions including coordinating staff assignments for care and bed placement.

    ESSENTIAL PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium demand, mentally. Requires extensive time sitting, writing, talking on telephone. Ability to assist in crisis intervention, able to lift up to 40 pounds.
