Although we are a Wichita, Kansas based GC we work in over 34 states. We are currentlyseeking Carpenter/Forman who would like growth, or 2023 Graduates for our Field Engineer (Assistant Superintendent) position. Our Field Engineers are offered full time salaried positions, Vehicle allowance, and per diem reimbursement, in addition to various other benefits and perks that come with working for Zernco. We offer flexible start dates for those who will be graduating this May.

Although we are a Wichita, Kansas based GC we work in over 34 states, candidatesmust have a valid Drivers License, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel 100% of the time to various states (generally in the Midwest). We are committed to getting our field employees home at least 2 times per month for a weekend home, and offer a flexible and generous PTO policy.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Superintendent with daily job-site tasks
  • Attend job-site meetings
  • Get hands on training in various areas of general construction and carpentry
  • Attend & participate in safety walks/talks
  • Have an awareness of Safety and abide by our Safety policies in all tasks while on the job-site
  • Assist Superintendent with communication between all subcontractors to ensure all required labor, materials, equipment, and inspections support project activities and project schedule
  • Assist the Superintendent withsubmittals including; accurate daily job reports to the office reporting job progress, subcontractors on site, safety concerns, employee time, per diem, training, as well as purchases made with purchase order number; submits weekly photos of job site progress; and submits receipts daily.
  • Assist with project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner.
  • Participates in hand off meetings and post project review meetings at our HQ
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, twist, reach, walk and sit for long periods of time. Ability to manually dig, drag, pull, and push various materials and objects on the jobsite.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, and push and pull up to 100lbs.

The employee will work in both indoor and outdoor environments. This position is regularly exposed to dust, dirt, and loud noise; and is occasionally exposed to heat, cold, odors, humidity, vibration, poor lighting and elevated workspaces. The position is rarely exposed to mechanical, electrical or fire hazards.
